There’s no denying that TikTok has made an impression on consumers, ask someone about their latest trendy purchase and it’s likely they will say ‘TikTok made me buy it!’. However, TikTok is now not just a platform for discovery, you can now make purchases directly through the app, which is why in a week’s time, TikTok is hosting a shopping experience for its community.

In the UK only, on each day from Thursday 25th until Tuesday 30th November, there will be a number of QVC style LIVE shopping events on TikTok that will allow users to secure special offers on some incredible trending products.

The live shopping event will feature your favourite creators and brands, who will come together to provide an entertaining shopping experience. Users will be able to access a ‘Black Friday’ page in TikTok UK’s Discover page from 22nd-30th November, as well as being able to check out special ‘Holiday Gift’ guides in-app and take part in the ‘Lucky Draw’ for special prizes during the period.

What’s in store?

Cult-classic beauty retailers and brands such as LOOKFANTASTIC, Charlotte Tilbury, Elemis, M.A.C., and L’Oréal will be taking part in the event, and you’ll also have the chance to bag the latest tech products like the iPhone 13, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. Expect discounts of up to 50% off exclusively on TikTok.

As well as these big-name brands, content creators, and celebs such as Charlotte Tilbury, Montana Brown, Charlotte Crosby, Mcloughlin Girls, and Arkitechnology, will host entertaining shopping sessions.

As well as huge discounts, shoppers can also bag themselves free shipping by tuning into and shopping from the series of exclusive LIVE shopping events.

It’s important to note that shoppers must be over 18 and have a valid credit or debit card to purchase products on TikTok.

The future of social commerce

As a whole, TikTok’s new shoppable feature will have a great impact on social commerce. Krishna Subramanian, CEO and Co-Founder at Captiv8 says: “Social commerce is disrupting the retail experience in a way that will completely alter the future of the industry, and TikTok’s recent product rollouts for TikTok Shopping are only the beginning of how platforms will continue to evolve their capabilities to allow for seamless eCommerce.”
