With vaccinations being rolled out across the globe, and Covid infection rates decreasing, we are starting to see glimpses of normality returning. Where brands have been used to connecting with influencers via video link for the past year, we are now beginning to see the different ways that brands are planning their future events.

YouTube to host first ever virtual beauty festival

YouTube has announced that its first ever virtual beauty festival, featuring huge names in the industry, will be taking place on the 14th of May 2021. Although virtual, the summit will be free to attend. Beauty enthusiasts across the globe will be able to tune in to watch sessions on diversity and equity, a history of beauty on YouTube, and more.

The event will be hosted by YouTube’s head of fashion and beauty, Derek Blasberg, who says: “What started as a small community has grown into the largest style video platform in the world. We’ve seen creators transform from small-town makeup gurus to become their own media empires!”

Featuring at the event, speaking on panels and hosting sessions will be some of the most influential beauty, fashion and lifestyle creators on YouTube. Viewers can expect to tune into content created by the likes of Emma Chamberlain, Hyram Yarbro (Skincare by Hyram), Manny MUA, Millie Bobby Brown – the list of famous content creators goes on.

‘YouTube Beauty Festival’ can be streamed on YouTube.com/Fashion beginning at 4:00pm EST/ 8:00pm GMT on the 14th of May 2021. Additional celebrity and creator appearances will be announced soon.

VidCon set to commence IRL

VidCon is a video tech convention that has taken place annually in California since 2010, with the exception of 2020 due to the pandemic. The hosts of VidCon are pleased to announce that the conference will be returning this year, held from October 21st-24th at the Anaheim Convention Center. The event welcomes thousands of online video viewers, creators, and industry representatives from across the world to join together to share their passion for online video.

As the event will be taking place in person, the team behind the organisation of the event will be putting Covid secure measures in place to assure the safety of the attendees. The Covid situation will be assessed closer to the time of the event so that the correct safety measures can be implemented such as social distancing, face coverings, and non invasive temperature checks.

TokFEST to go from virtual to in person

The creators of Social in the City, also known as SitC, had to postpone their summer and winter events last year due to Covid restrictions. The usual venue, the London ExCeL centre was used as a nightingale hospital during the height of the pandemic. Fortunately, this year, Vlogger Events Limited are pleased to announce that their in person events will be making a return.

Originally set to take place in person last year was Vlogger Events Limited’s ‘TokFEST’. The digital version of the event commenced earlier this year, but will be making its in person debut on the 11th and 12th of September at the Birmingham NEC.

Similar to VidCon, TokFEST welcomes content creators and their fans. Attendees can expect to see TikTok creators such as Poppy Mead, Bella Hill, and James Foreman at the event, with the opportunity to join their meet and greets as well as live Q&As, discussions, challenges, and games.

Save the date for IMS London

Talking Influence successfully hosted the second Influencer Marketing Show Global virtual event in April. Attendees tuned in from all over the world to enjoy curated informative sessions and Q&As hosted by those with a wealth of knowledge in influencer marketing.

We are excited to be bringing IMS to London later year – in person! The event will take place at Old Billingsgate on the 11th of October, and we can’t wait to welcome guests to network together without a computer screen getting in the way.  More information about IMS London will be coming to you soon, but to ensure you don’t miss the latest updates, subscribe to our newsletter.

Events like this allow the influencer community to come together to connect. Fans get to meet their favourite creators and consume specialised content, creators are able to develop content, and those who work behind the scenes are able to learn more and adapt as the influencer space presents new opportunities
