#TikTokFashionMonth: TikTok Partners With Luxury Brands to Livestream Fashion Week Shows

TikTok is partnering with luxury designers to livestream shows for its debut Fashion month so users can be part of the TikTok fashion front row.

TikTok has just announced its debut #TikTokFashionMonth. As part of the new initiative, TikTok will partner with several designers to livestream show and events during New York Fashion Week and beyond.

From now until October 8, the platform will host two livestreams per week, featuring runway shows by luxury designers including Saint Laurent, JW Anderson, and Louis Vuitton. TikTok users can begin using a variety of hashtags, watch live videos and see new creative effects.

According to TikTok, the fashion month will enable brands to “discover new ways to connect with their customers while also bringing creative streetwear and runway to fans” as many are still quarantined at home.

“We’ve seen the fashion industry reinvent what luxury fashion means to culture and society through TikTok by bringing fashion into the homes of our community during quarantine,” said CeCe Vu, fashion content partnerships lead at TikTok. Vu said the launch of TikTok Fashion Month is just another way for its brand partners to leverage the platform’s authentic and community-driven approach to showcase their art, creativity and personalities in a “unique and truly TikTok way.”

“It’s always been important for JW Anderson to work with new technologies and platforms. I think TikTok is challenging norms and innovating the way JW Anderson does,” says Jonathan Anderson, founder and creative director at JW Anderson. “I am very excited to be working directly with TikTok this season to show our Women’s SS21 collection on the platform.”

The debut of TikTok Fashion Months follows on from a range of designers joining the platform recently, including Louis Vuitton and Levi’s.

On the final night, they will wrap with Nick Tangorra hosting the TikTok Runway Odyssey, an exclusive, first-of-its-kind virtual fashion runway livestream in partnership with PUMA and Alice & Olivia. For the live stream, PUMA has partnered with Black TikTok creators and designers for their exclusive collection with $10K in proceeds from the sales going directly to the Equal Justice Initiative.
