TikTok unveiled its debut UK TV ad campaign, called ‘A Little Brighter Inside’.

Artists such as Tinie Tempah and Little Mix and chef Gordon Ramsey and Olympic star Tom Daley will feature alongside TikTok stars that have seen a growth in followers during lockdown. One of the TikTok stars appearing in the advert is Grandpa Joe, who has seen his follower numbers grow to an impressive 1.8 million.

Social.Lab created the first linear TV ad for TikTok, which is part of a wider marketing campaign the social platform plans to run throughout May.

The creators and celebrities featuring in the advert are part of a wider campaign for TikTok. They will use their platform to showcase their routines during lockdown through TikTok’s Live feature.

Jana Ulaite, head of brand and partnerships marketing at TikTok said: “This campaign is all about celebrating the fun and positive spirit of TikTok creators, to shine a light on the amazing content that we are seeing during these tough times.

“So whether it is Grandad Joe taking part in the level up challenge, or even a dancing cat we hope it shines a brighter light on the creativity of the TikTok community and brings a sprinkle of joy to anyone who watches it.”

This will be the first time TikTok adverts will feature on ITV, Sky One and Channel4.
