The World Health Organization (WHO) has partnered with CGI influencer Knox Frost to help inform the younger generation of important Coronavirus best practices.
According to Buzzfeed News, the Instagram post is part of the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and the campaign will be pro bono.
Knox Frost is a digital 20-year-old ‘male’ from Atlanta with over a million followers on Instagram. He posted about the collaboration on Instagram: “I’ve partnered with @WHO to combat corona. Let’s show them younger generations are in this fight.” He also included a link to WHO’s donation page in his bio so his audience can “hit it and donate.”
“Keep practicing social distancing and washing your hands,” he added to the end of his post.

Social media marketing firm Influential, the creators of Knox, told Buzzfeed News: “Through this partnership with WHO, (Knox is) ensuring the message to stay home, stay healthy, and to donate to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund reaches even the youngest generations. While Knox Frost may be a virtual human, he’s making a real-world impact during this time of need.”
Frost is one of many CGI influencers, including Lil Miquela and Blawko, that have been created over the last few years. They have since grabbed headlines for “appearing” on red carpets, partnering with luxury fashion houses and hanging out with celebrities. With social media platforms starting to take over traditional channels, virtual influencers can play an important role for brands looking for new advertising opportunities and offer a new, artistic way to promote a product or service to a younger audience.
