Pinterest Opens Office in Singapore as User Demand in APAC Increases

As the number of monthly Pinterest users in APAC has increased 50% in the last year, Pinterest opens a new office in Singapore.

Pinterest has opened a new office in Singapore in the APAC region – one of the company’s fastest-growing regions. Ayumi Nakajima, country manager, South East Asia & India, will head up the team and focus on increasing growth in the region.

Pinterest has another office in Tokyo, which opened in 2013. According to a statement, millions of people currently use the platform every month and the number has increased by more than 50% over the past year in the region. Users in the region are also saving more than 7.5 million pins on the platform per day.

The new team will support relationships for brands and publishers to ensure that the company offers a localised experience for people from different cultures throughout the region.

“Pinterest has a growing, passionate audience across APAC, who are using Pinterest for inspiration to create a life they love,” said Nakajima.

The Singapore team has already started working with regional partners such as Vogue India and Miss Malini in India.

“With a team based in Singapore, we’ll be able to offer an even more relevant experience for our Pinners in one of our fastest growing regions. So no matter where you’re from, Pinterest is serving you ideas that feel personalised for you,” concluded Nakajima.
